Dookie Defender

A polite camera for your front yard

Your lawn, politely defended.

Dookie Defender is a small camera-and-hub kit that watches your yard, notices when a dog stops to do its business, and plays a friendly reminder to the person on the other end of the leash. Every visit is recorded, so you know what happened while you were out, and the awkward conversation happens without you.

How it works

  1. 1

Point a camera at the yard

Any cheap Wi-Fi camera with a speaker. The little hub (a Raspberry Pi) sits inside and watches the picture around the clock.

  2. 2

    It notices the squat

The hub recognises dogs, then the unmistakable posture. Not every dog, not a person bending over: just the moment that matters.

  3. 3

    It speaks up, kindly

The camera plays a friendly reminder while the owner is still standing there, and saves the clip to your dashboard.

The message the camera speaks
“Hi friend, you are on camera. Please make sure your dog's poop is properly cleaned up and hauled away. Have a nice day.”

That is the default. Change the words, the volume, the cooldown and the quiet hours per camera from your dashboard.
